Susanna Schrobsdorff is an essayist and a contributor to TIME magazine and the Washington Post. She writes It’s Not Just You, a newsletter about what connects us. Previously, she was an Executive Editor, Senior Vice President, and essayist at TIME magazine, Digital Director at Newsweek, and an Executive Editor at NBC-Universal. Susanna edited many of TIME’s most-viewed cover stories and videos, including TIME’s 2017 Person of the Year: The Silence Breakers, about the #metoo movement. And as a member of TIME’s executive team, she developed editorial and funding partnerships for numerous award-winning documentaries and interactive journalism, including Border Hustle: A Father’s Decision to Smuggle his Daughter and Finding Home: A Year in the Life of Two Syrian Families.
Susanna is the winner of a New York Press Club award for outstanding digital coverage and three Front Page awards for cultural commentary, interactive journalism, and video. She is a graduate of Barnard College and the mother of two extraordinary young humans.
