Elsa Marie Collins

Raised on both sides of the border (San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico), Elsa received her B.A. and Masters Degree from Stanford University as well as her J.D. from Columbia Law School.  As a first generation Latina and college graduate, she works hard to represent her community.

Her work is centered and focused on service to others, cultural narrative change, amplifying voices of underrepresented communities and equity.  She co-founded Poderistas focused on Latina civic engagement and voting and This is About Humanity, an organization raising awareness and funds for separated and reunified families at the US/Mexico border. She was recently recognized with the Latino Spirit Award for Human Rights from the CA Latino Legislative Caucus. She is also a founding member of I am a Voter.

Recent projects include: This is About Humanity’s relief kitchen where we are feeding 3000 meals a day to families and children seeking asylum; grassroots advocacy campaign for the movie Flamin’ Hot which culminated in a screening for POTUS and FLOTUS at the White House and narrative amplification for 8 grassroots organizations in AZ, TX, NV and FL.
